Q: Why? A: FOOD

Personally, my own health has been on my mind lately which luckily I was reminded about author Michael Pollan. Pollan is someone I have been paying attention too for a while, and I have yet to read his book, The Omnivore’s Dilemma (anybody lend me a copy?), but whenever book excerpts and articles arise with his name, I'm right there. His knowledge of food makes you realize that it's not just watching your weight. It's about understanding the root of the problem in the world today. The more I learn the more I believe that:
Food is at the heart or at least connected to issues dealing with economics, politics, human rights, war, the works.

Here's a great summary of the Pollan opinion from Democracy Now. It's a long read or vid/audio session, but you'll be wiser for it.
