In September 2008 a friend of many in the activist community of Tucson and beyond, Sali Eiler, was murdered in Oaxaca. She was a tireless volunteer and organizer who was involved with No More Deaths here in southern Arizona and had spent many months in Oaxaca working with CIPO-RFM and women's groups there.

This is a brief clip of part of the ongoing rough cut of the war tax resistance documentary, "Death and Taxes." This clip is part of an interview with Larry Harper and Eszter Freeman in Sebastopol, California, who have been resisting since the 80s. I really could use some photos of Eszter's coffin action that she is talking about in this clip, so that I can illustrate better what she did.

This section is about the practice of the police torturing innocents in order to find scapegoats for the murders (Note: since the completion of the film, new developments in this situation have resulted in the release of several of these tortured and imprisoned people, thanks in large part to the efforts of activists, in Mexico and internationals.) The next section, available next week, concerns corruption, on all levels and on both sides of the border.
