Tucson Says No to Sheriff Joe

no-to-joe-MPEG-4 800Kbps.mp4

On January 25, 2008, the Pima County Republican Women's Club invited to speak at their luncheon the Sheriff of Maricopa County, Joe Arpaio. Sheriff Joe is the self-described "toughest sheriff in the nation" and is widely known for his controversial enforcement strategies that have cost Maricopa County over 41 million dollars in lawsuits for civil rights violations, as well as his hard line against undocumented migrants.

This video depicts that morning when Tucson activists came out to let Arpaio and the Women's Club know that he was not welcome in Tucson, and neither are his policies.
